U-YOUNG Products
What Drillers need.....
v' Quality Design.
v' Increased production.
v' Better cost per Meter.
Impregnated Core Bits
Diamond impregnated core bits are at the forefront of exploration technology.
Premium quality diamonds are embedded in an infiltrated or sintered matrix which during the drilling process erodes and exposes the diamond particles to cut the rock formation.
Variances in matrix metallurgy allow the customer to select a Series bit to suit the rock hardness parameter being drilled.
Impregnated Depth
This refers to the thickness of the crown area of the matrix. Industry standards and customer satisfaction have been the key drivers in demanding value for money in Crown design, and it all starts with Crown Height.
Uyoung offers crown designs and Matrix height to suit your needs. From 9 mm through to 20mm.
Other customer-defined impregnating depths are also available upon request.Unless otherwise stated, a 16mm impregnation depth is supplied as standard design.

Wedge
■ Superior flushing capability
■ Improved productivity
■ Preferable in abrasive or broken rock
Turbo
■ High productivity
■ Suitable for competent formations.
Round Face Discharge
■ Designed to minimize flushing of core sample
■ Suitable for broken/granular formation
Vortex Profile
■ Suitable for broken sedimentary or metamorphic formations
■ An elongated hole is more efficient than a round hole
Elongated Face Discharge
■ Reduced time spent conditioning the hole between core runs thus providing better overall production rates
■ Suitable for soft to medium-hard formations
Sand Profile
■ Designed for optimum water flow with minimized flushing of core sample
■ Suitable for broken or competent formations
According to the different formation and drilling conditions, U-YOUNG can offer various crown profiles.

Surface Set Bits
Surface set diamond bits can be used with any type of core barrels. By varying the diamond grade, size, quality and matrix hardness and crown shapes, the user can satisfactorily drill and core hard and homogeneous formations.
To avoid excessive matrix wear at the leading edge of each segment, tungsten carbide inserts are fitted on each side of the waterway. This kind of bit can not be used in broken or loose formations.
Matrix
U-YOUNG surface set bits are manufactured using a hard matrix with high resistance to erosion.
Surface set drill bits are available in different crowns to obtain optimal drilling performation.

Diamond Sizes
The standard range of natural diamonds for surface set bits is chosen in a special all-round grade with special quality. These stones have a high impact resistance and may be considered a universal type.
Standard profiles for surface set core bits:
■ Multi-steps
■ Semi-round
■ Face discharge (FD)
■ Non-coring bits with concave profile
Diamond Quality
Recommend:
the softer formation, the larger the diamonds used i.e. 15 spc.
In medium hard formation, uses 20 to 30 psc.
In hard formation, uses much smaller diamonds 40 to 60 spc .
Diamond contest is mearsured in carat . Other diamond qualities and sizes on request.

Geotechnical Core Bit
TSP Bits
Thermally Stable Polycrystalline bits that usessmaller triangular and cubic shaped cutters that are composed entirely of micron-sized syntheticdiamond particles.
PCD Type
Polycrystalline Diamond Bits that use larger cylindrical shaped cutters that consist of a layer of micron-sized synthetic diamond particles that are mounted on a tungsten-carbide substrate.
Geotechnical bits are recommended for use when drilling relatively soft, abrasive, unconsolidated sedimentary formations that are not effectively drilled by surface set diamond bits. The formation types may range from very soft clay, gypsum or talc to harder types of sandstone. The difference between the various types of geotechnical bit is in the degree of cutter exposure and the density or number of cutters mounted on the face of the bit.

Reaming Shell/Stabilizer
U-YOUNGdesigns and manufactures Impregnated and Surface set reamer shells with optimum tungsten carbide and polycrystalline gauge protection to ensure your drill hole remains in gauge.
U-YOUNG offer our customers a range of different styles to suit your needs. From Standard length, through to our Triple length design, each Reamer will maximise drill string stability.
Reaming shells are available in different lengths:
■ 18" Triple reaming shell
■ 1O" Double ring reaming shell available only for B, N, H size (need inner tube adjustment)
■ 6" Standard design
Impregnated Reamers…..These are made with high-quality synthetic diamond and PCD wear pins, with Industry-standard spiral waterways for improved stability and increased flushing capacity. Single and Double-padded designs are also available.
Surface Set Reamers…..These are set with specially selected diamonds and PCD wear pins to facilitate effective flushing to extended wear and longer service life, providing an excellent economy.
Super Heavy Duty Reaming Shell
This kind of reaming shells set with natural diamond and synthetic diamond together, therefore its service life is much longers, its reamer and penetration rate is the highest.

Stabilized Adapter Couplings and Locking Couplings
These tools are used in place of conventional blank or silver soldered matrix pad adapter couplings and locking couplings.
These tools are used to provide stabilization to the back end of the core barrel assembly.
Casing Shoes & Ream Over Bits
U-YOUNG manufactures a comprehensive range of diamond and tungsten carbide casing shoes for standard drilling or positioning casing tubes into drill holes.
Casing shoes have cutting segments on the front and exterior, while the interior is smooth.
The inner diameter of the casing shoe is sufficiently large to permit free passage of drill bits and core barrels in corresponding sizes.
U-YOUNG can deliver quality Ream Over Bits (Shoes)to enable Drillers to recover Rods or Casing that may be Encumbered by adverse ground conditions.
Ream Over Bits are available in sizes designed for the following applications:
For reaming over Standard Gauge rods..(N, H and PHD/HWT Wireline Drill rods).
For reaming over Standard Barrel components ( with Standard Gauge Reamers in use).
For reaming over increased Gauge Barrel components ( with Oversized Reamers in use ).

Rod Shoes
U-YOUNG is capable of manufacturing any rod shoes listed in the table below,
Rod shoe sizes not listed or those with non-standard may be available on request.

Down Hole Motor Bits
Bullnose Bits and Reamers
U-YOUNG manufacture Downhole motor bits for use with Directional Drilling Tools. These tools come with industry standard threading (BW Pin on N Series bits.... NW Pin on H Series bits).
A Full Range of Matrix series is available to be manufactured to suit your needs. Bullnose Bits and Reamers are also available to assist in maintaining hole deflection during navigational operations.
Reamer Gauges
Gauged steel rings are designed for drillers to keep a check on the Reamer gauge to ensure that hole annulus is maintained throughout the drilling process. All Gauges are marked with size for measurement reference. (Excluding Oversized product).
